Our Story
Basco Logging began as Sabala Logging in 1947 when Boni Yraguen, Chris Sabala, Domingo Sabala, and Juan Domingo Sabala became partners operating a small tractor side. Juan Domingo retired in 1955, but Boni, Chris, and Domingo began cable logging with a skid-mounted steam donkey to keep working year-round in the 60’s. In 1971, Boni bought out Chris and Domingo and renamed the company Basco Logging Inc.

Family Owned & Operated
In 1985, Boni & Julia’s sons; Nick, Jaime, and Juan formally bought the company from their parents. The company then grew to run 3 yarder sides, log trucks, a road construction side, and employed up to 60 employees. In 1991, the logging industry suffered the near closing of logging on Federal lands resulting from the Dwyer decision to protect the spotted owl. Basco Logging then transformed the logging road construction operation into a civil construction operation performing residential and commercial projects. Basco also retooled the logging operations to handle more efficiently the smaller second growth timber still being harvested on private lands.
