Company Info: Founded in 1936, Peterson is the authorized Cat dealer in Northern California, Oregon, and southwest Washington. In 1977 we opened our dedicated engine division, now known as Peterson Power Systems, Inc.

Headquartered in San Leandro, we offer a wide array of power generation and engine services including sales, rental, parts, and service. Our full-service protection programs feature annual or monthly service options including load bank and megger testing. The dealership offers marine and OEM engines, generators, and used equipment. Peterson has been a family-owned Caterpillar dealership for more than eighty years.

Our experienced sales and engineering teams have the technical expertise to meet your power requirements. For temporary power, our rental fleet can provide over 200 megawatts of quiet portable power, from 15kW to 5.7mW. We also offer portable chillers from 5-800 tons, oil-free and oil-injected air compressors, cooling towers and pumps, load banks, and transformers. We can deliver, set up, and support your rental equipment 24/7/365.

Power Systems manufactured by Caterpillar and engineered, installed, and serviced by Peterson Power supply emergency stand-by power for hospitals, data and telecommunication systems, office buildings, and industrial applications. Our engines also power work boats, pleasure craft, and provide clean dependable prime power for distributed generation used in businesses and remote construction products.

Peterson Power Systems is committed to protecting the environment. We have revised our operating procedures relating to vehicle fleet maintenance, office recycling programs, facilities upkeep, and purchasing options to reflect this commitment. A major part of this program is a parts remanufacturing option we offer in conjunction with Caterpillar, in which replaced parts are returned to the factory for retooling and reuse. This significantly reduces the amount of scrap we discard each year. As a result of our green efforts, Peterson Power Systems is now a certified Bay Area Green Business. This certification demonstrates our dedication to reducing our impact on the environment with the following programs: solid waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and pollution prevention.
