Up for auction is this 1929? Ford Model A 2-door project, or as I call it, “the mechanical equivalent of a cigarette mom who still somehow made it to all your baseball games.”This thing has personality. Not the cute quirky kind either. The kind that gets banned from Applebee’s and still shows up in the parking lot asking for a ride home. The body is wonderfully “custom,” meaning every panel seems to have gone through its own emotional journey independently of the others.The paint has been heavily sun-kissed by approximately 97 Arizona summers. It’s less “paint job” and more “archaeological evidence.” The patina crowd will absolutely drool over it while pretending they totally planned for their own project to look abandoned too.Currently sitting on what appears to be an S10 frame because apparently somewhere along the line somebody looked at this Model A and said, “You know what this needs? Identity issues.” Honestly though, it kind of works. Like cowboy boots with basketball shorts.It's got a small block Chevy mated to an automatic transmission, because if you’re going to commit crimes against originality, you may as well go all the way. The engine has unfortunately been rained into for an unknown amount of time, so whether it runs or merely contains several forms of new aquatic life is anyone’s guess. I have chosen not to investigate further out of respect for whatever ecosystem has formed in there.Important feature: the body is currently NOT mounted to the frame.Would make a killer rat rod, shop truck, yard art, conversation piece, tetanus delivery device, or emotional support vehicle for someone whose Facebook profile picture includes wraparound sunglasses.No title.
