Tandem-drive motor grader on the Cat 3176C ATAAC engine with an electronically controlled 8F/6R direct-drive power shift. The Trimble system grades to design from the cab, which cuts out staking, grade checking, and extra passes, and saves the buyer a new 3D retrofit that typically runs $55k to $100k. VHP prevents tire spin and drivetrain strain in the low gears and keeps the machine from bogging down in the high gears. It has load-sensing hydraulics with lever controls, an articulated frame, front wheel lean, hydraulic moldboard side shift and tip, and a slip clutch on the circle drive. Sealed oil-disc brakes are on all four tandem wheels.
