2017 Vermeer BC1000XL Towable Wood Chipper

Municipal units run on scheduled maintenance intervals whether the machine needs it or not — Roughly 64 hours a year since new.

Powered by the 89 hp PSI 3.0L four-cylinder EFI gas engine. The 12” drum handles most work without hand-feeding.

The BC1000XL earns its reputation on throughput. The 12” capacity throat and Vermeer’s SmartFeed feed-sensing system automatically stops and reverses the feed rollers when the engine bogs, so operators keep loading instead of babysitting the machine. The patented bottom feed stop bar gives crews a full-width stop across the infeed table, and the folding infeed tray keeps transport length manageable.
