Rail crews usually end up with a hi-rail truck, a crane, and a hand tool trailer all working the same job, and this Freightliner 108SD is built to cut that down to one unit. The IMT 10/72 SL K3 crane has an 8,929 lb max capacity, a 3-section hydraulic boom extension, a 31' 10" maximum horizontal reach, and 420° of rotation. It comes with radio remote control, a hydraulic overload system, and cylinder holding valves. The DMF RW-1420 railgear is hydraulically operated and includes front brakes, front rail sweeps, insulated construction, slotted rear links, a heavy duty rear bracket, remote rear air pins, and a front shunting system, and it is track tested. The 14' steel platform body has vented streetside upright, gas bottle, curbside vertical, and underbody compartments, along with a long bar box that runs side to side, E-track, and a rail rack with tie downs. A PTO and pump power the crane, railgear, and tool circuit, with a hydraulic control valve and a hydraulic tool circuit that includes two 5/10 GPM outlets. Two electric rewind hose reels with 45' quick disconnect hose assemblies are included. The chassis is a 4x2 crew cab with a 13,000 lb front axle, a 21,000 lb rear axle, a 229" wheelbase, and a 33,000 lb GVWR. The Cummins L9 diesel runs through an Eaton Fuller FR-9210B manual transmission, with air brakes, an engine block heater, and HD batteries. Air suspension seats and the crew cab keep the crew comfortable on the way to the work site. For work around the truck, the sheet lists an amber strobe light, a flashing light system, work lights, conspicuity striping, a fire extinguisher, a triangle reflector kit, a back-up alarm, wheel chocks, and a remote battery terminal with jumper cable.
