This Freightliner 114SD Plus 10x4 is for fleets that want to haul heavy without giving up maneuverability. The 10x4 layout (20,000 lb front, 46,000 lb Hendrickson tandem rear, and two 13,500 lb steerable pushers) supports a 93,000 lb GVWR, and the pushers help it turn in tight yards. The 18' Load King body holds about 22 cy and is built from AR450 steel (1/4" on the front, floor, and tailgate, 3/16" on the sides), so it handles abrasive loads like rock, demo debris, and asphalt millings in a shorter package than a 19' or 20' body. A telescopic trunnion-mount hoist, air-operated tailgate with sludge locks and spreader chains, electric mesh tarp, and center console controls give the driver control over the dump without leaving the cab. The Cummins X12 at 500 hp with an Allison 4500 RDS-P, an engine brake, and a driver-controlled locking differential give it the power and traction to work a loaded body on grades and soft ground. A 50 ton pintle hitch, trailer brake controller, and gladhands also let it pull a pup trailer.
