Choosing The Best Water Truck

• Potable Water Truck – This water truck is meant for transporting water for human consumption, swimming pools, and for large events. They have 1,000-gallon and 2,600-gallon capacities. All other designs for non-human consumption and use are simply called water trucks.
• Size – If you are transporting liquids, then the size of the tank will decide the size of the water truck. Most tanks are available in 500-gallon all the way up to 5,000-gallon sizes. Make sure you are staying within legal weight limits if you go onto public roadways. For mines and construction sites, the size of the entrance will limit the size of the water truck. Make sure that the water truck has enough room to operate safely.

How to Choose a Used Water Truck

Water trucks run much like regular commercial trucks and can mostly be inspected as such. If it has been used in mining or construction, then check the pumps for dust. If you are buying the tank as well, then make sure it has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and that it’s free of dust. Ask the seller what they have been using to clean the tank. They should have been using a .2% solution of either calcium hypochlorite or sodium hypochlorite.
