Water Trucks for Transporting Irrigation Water, Drinking Water, Dust Control and More
With special tanks, suspension and braking systems, and mounted spraying equipment, water trucks are designed to carry and distribute large volumes of liquids that regular commercial trucks simply cannot handle. Water trucks are typically used to transport irrigation water, drinking water, and milk wherever needed. They can spray water from the rear to control dust during mining and construction operations, get rid of rocks and native soil for ore extraction, and sometimes to combat forest fires.
My Little Salesman has an amazing list of water trucks for sale that can transport and spray liquids while keeping them safe for consumption. Whether you are in need of off road water trucks for construction and mining applications or highway water trucks for hauling and local deliveries, you can find them here for the right price at My Little Salesman.
Choosing The Best Water Truck
- Potable Water Truck – This water truck is meant for transporting water for human consumption, swimming pools, and for large events. They have 1,000-gallon and 2,600-gallon capacities. All other designs for non-human consumption and use are simply called water trucks.
- Size – If you are transporting liquids, then the size of the tank will decide the size of the water truck. Most tanks are available in 500-gallon all the way up to 5,000-gallon sizes. Make sure you are staying within legal weight limits if you go onto public roadways. For mines and construction sites, the size of the entrance will limit the size of the water truck. Make sure that the water truck has enough room to operate safely.
How to Choose a Used Water Truck
Water trucks run much like regular commercial trucks and can mostly be inspected as such. If it has been used in mining or construction, then check the pumps for dust. If you are buying the tank as well, then make sure it has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and that it’s free of dust. Ask the seller what they have been using to clean the tank. They should have been using a .2% solution of either calcium hypochlorite or sodium hypochlorite.
