New Polar 8,400-Gallon DOT 407 Aluminum Crude Oil Tank Trailer
This new Polar ACX8 8400-1 is an 8,400-gallon aluminum DOT 407 crude oil tank trailer engineered for crude oil transportation and demanding oilfield service. The single-compartment barrel uses a 12-inch-drop, double-conical design for efficient product flow. The tank is constructed with a .249-inch aluminum bottom, .219-inch aluminum sides and top, and .275-inch aluminum heads. Four full-circle aluminum baffles provide load control during transport. The tank is rated for 25 PSI operating pressure and a 210°F design temperature.
The interior is lined with Tnemec Tank Armor 335, providing additional protection for crude oil service. The lining is installed by a specialized outside source and includes a one-year limited warranty from the lining provider. Product handling is built around a 6-inch aluminum sump and Betts air-operated emergency valve. Four-inch stainless-steel piping routes product to both roadside and curbside outlets. The trailer includes five 4-inch aluminum butterfly valves with Viton seals, multiple TTMA adapters and a Roper 3548 hydraulic-driven pump with relief valve, triple-lip seal and hydraulic motor.
A Titan overfill system with Finch III display provides staged protection at 190, 195 and 200 barrels. The trailer also includes Civacon vapor recovery equipment, six cleanout openings, an audio capacity alarm and a stainless-steel static grounding cable. The undercarriage includes a Hendrickson INTRAAX AAT25K tandem air-ride suspension, Hendrickson integrated axles, Wabco iABS, Alcoa polished aluminum wheels and Cooper 295/75R22.5 tires. This trailer is well equipped for crude oil hauling, oilfield transport and related petroleum applications where a pressure-rated, lined aluminum DOT 407 tank trailer is required.
