John Deere is now manufacturing their mechanical angle blade for 950K and 1050K crawler dozers. The benefit of the mechanical angle blade is that it can be manually angled from side to side, making jobs like backfilling, rough grading, and general earthmoving much easier. John Deere made the decision to produce the blades for the 950K and 1050K models based on customer feedback.

This decision comes with the company’s confidence in the durability of their models. The 944K wheel loader was already named as a finalist for the Diesel Progress Summit Awards in the Electrification Application of the Year category, further giving assurance to the commitment John Deere has to providing long-lasting machines to customers.

In an effort to offer the power and comfort customers desire, John Deere has rolled out their new Class Production Class L-Series wheel loaders. Designed for the toughest and most demanding worksites, the series includes three models: the 744L, the 824L, and the 844L. These wheel loaders come equipped with new electrohydraulic (EH) controls and an improved HVAC system in addition to a roomier cab, making the experience of operation much more comfortable and productive.

John Deere is now offering their Registered Apprenticeship Program to their Agriculture & Turf and Construction & Forestry dealers. The program was recently approved by the U.S. Department of Labor and is meant to provide dealers with a formalized, on-the-job, technical training plan in order to groom more highly skilled workers. The program aims to address a widespread shortage of service technicians, a problem especially felt in rural areas throughout the country.

John Deere’s newest training facility in Coal Valley, Illinois was recently completed, offering trainees 7,500 square feet of training space. More than half of the facility - 4,0000 square feet - is covered canopy space for outdoor training and equipment walkarounds. This new Construction & Forestry Training Campus also features three classrooms that can be used individually for separate training purposes or combined in order to hold events for up to 250 people.

John Deere is upgrading their 470G LC Excavators with new grade guidance technology, developed in cooperation with Topcon Positioning Group. The concept was originally designed for use with 210G LC and 350G LC Excavators, providing operators with bucket location in relation to a 2D reference or 3D design surface. This power and precision then arms those operators with the detail necessary for precision excavation projects like digging trenches for pipe laying, shaping ditches or slopes, and digging structure foundations.

The new models are ideal for use on John Deere G-Series skid steers and compact track loaders, similar to other attachments. These backhoe attachments were designed specifically for applications like light construction, landscaping, agricultural, or utility work.

John Deere will be displaying their construction equipment at Bauma for the first time this year, April 8-14th. Set to be exhibiting a select fourteen machines, the exhibition will be held at the Wirtgen Group booth. Amongst the equipment will be motor graders intended be sold via the French sales and service company Wirtgen France SAS, as well as Wirtgen Group’s German sales and service companies, which John Deere acquired in December of 2017.

John Deere is rolling out their next generation of construction simulators, bringing avid learners more advanced, hands-on training. The modular update outfits the new simulators to one of six machine types: the backhoe, crawler dozer, excavator, wheel loader, joystick-controlled motor grader, and fingertip control motor grader. Based on actual John Deere equipment, the updated simulators feature swappable controls that allow for quick interchange of joysticks and foot pedals to multiple machine types.

This update comes as a direct result of feedback from customers, and changes include a new design for improving serviceability and increased productivity and uptime. The eight new models, the 2154G, 2156G, 2654G, 2656G, 3154G, 3156G, 3754G, and 3756G, are built for the toughest of jobs with reliability at the forefront.
